Breast augmentation

marking before breast augmentation surgery

Beautiful, firm, toned and attractive breasts: isn't that what every woman dreams of? Plastic breast augmentation is often associated with huge size and unnatural appearance. In practice, very few patients fight for such a radical change. The most common is the desire to enlarge the breasts by a couple of sizes, for example, from 1 to 3. Modern implants and technologies of the operation make it possible to achieve the most natural appearance of the breast, avoiding complications and giving women confidencein themselves.

Breast augmentation surgery is called breast augmentation. It is performed under general anesthesia using implants of various shapes and sizes. The advantage of breast augmentation in modern plastic surgery is the ability to achieve symmetry and correct all birth defects. Including, to improve the appearance of the nipple-areola complex.

What are the best implants to choose?

The implants differ in shape: anatomical and round. The former, thanks to the teardrop shape, create soft and natural contours of the breast. The mammary glands look very natural. Round implants give the breast a visually larger size, making it lifted (push-up). With them, the contour of the upper area of the neckline becomes higher.

Profile types for breast implants also vary from low to extra high. The surface of silicone implants can be smooth and textured.

Your doctor will help you choose the implants. With extensive experience in mammoplasty, the surgeon will recommend several manufacturers and explain which implant form will be best for you.

At the consultation, you will be able to try implant models - sizers to imagine what the shape of the future shape of the breast will be.

Breast enlargement methods

A plastic surgeon performs breast augmentation in different ways. They are surgical or non-surgical. The first are:

  • breast augmentation with round or anatomical implants: breast augmentation in different sizes; the result of the operation is saved forever;
  • breast lipofling: increase of 1-1. 5 sizes with the help of injections of purified autologous fat taken from the "problematic" areas; The results of lipofilling are permanent if severe weight loss is avoided.

A cosmetic method of enlarging the mammary glands is the injection of absorbable gels (fillers). This method is quite expensive: contour plastic with fillers costs almost the same as mammoplasty, and the effect lasts on average up to 2 years.

You can adjust the shape of the glands with a wire lift. The procedure will not increase the size of the breast, but it will give it a nice contour.

Benefits of mammoplasty:

  • Beautiful proportions of the breasts.At the consultation before breast augmentation surgery, the doctor recommends the most suitable type of implant, the method of installation (under the mammary gland or under the muscle), as well as the access options (axillary, inframammary, periareolar). The implants are always selected individually: the lines of the main manufacturers include hundreds of models that differ in volume, shape and size.
  • Model the result.To estimate in advance how much the effect of mammoplasty will meet your expectations, it allows the modeling or fitting of gauges (prosthetic models used to select implants).
  • Plant warranty.Clinics give a guarantee for implants installed in the chest. The safety of endoprostheses for breast augmentation is confirmed by clinical studies: they do not affect the general condition of the body, are not dangerous in case of damage to the shell (silicone gel with a dense structure does not penetrate the surrounding tissues), do notinterfere with preventive examination of the mammary glands and do not limit the possibility of breastfeeding in the future. . .
  • Breast augmentation in different sizes.If breast augmentation with the use of your own adipose tissue (lipofilling) allows you to correct the volume only in a relatively small range (1-1. 5 dimensions), then with the help of mammoplasty, you can achieve an effectimpressive in one operation. After receiving the desired volume, you can rest assured that it will not change over time.
  • Security and confidence in the result.The result of breast augmentation (breast augmentation) depends on the professionalism of the surgeon, therefore breast augmentation must be performed in a specialized clinic, by doctors with extensive experience.

Breast Augmentation Surgical Techniques

The implant can be positioned:

  • under the gland;
  • under the muscle.

The installation of implants under the gland shortens the rehabilitation period. Recovery is less painful. But this method is fraught with complications later. For example, breast ptosis may be more noticeable. Constrictive fibrosis, if it occurs, can be more pronounced. For girls who have not given birth but intend to have children, implants are placed only under the muscle.

Possible accesses:

  • inframammary (incision under the breast);
  • periareolar (incision around the nipple-areola complex);
  • axillary (lateral incision in the armpit area).

Submammary accessIt is the most preferred method from a controlled recovery point of view. It is used for breast augmentation if the patient is about to give birth and feed the baby with milk. Even very large implants can be easily inserted through this access. Postoperative scars will be hidden in the folds under the breast.

Periareolar accessgood when a breast lift and breast augmentation are done at the same time. This type of access allows you to change the shape of the nipple-areola complex. If the areola is small, it will not be possible to install a large implant. Scars with periareolar access will follow the contour of the areola. Over time, they will become almost invisible to the naked eye. This type of access is not recommended for nulliparous girls, as the milk ducts can be damaged during the operation.

Axillary accessgood for small plants. But anatomical implants cannot be installed this way, only round. The scars in this case will be located in the armpits.

Types of breast augmentation implants

For breast augmentation, silicone implants of various sizes (size 1 equal to 120 ml) and shapes are used: round or teardrop (anatomical).

  • Mammoplasty surgery with the installation of round implants forms a volumetric raised breast with regular rounded contours. In nature, such a form of mammary glands ("apple") is quite rare, therefore, after augmentation, the breast may look less natural than when installing anatomical implants. But this type of implant is suitable for correcting mild prolapse (ptosis) of the mammary glands without additional tightening.
  • Teardrop implants reproduce the most common form of the mammary glands: outwardly they resemble a cone. With them, the breast acquires a fuller lower pole with a gentle descent to it, characteristic of a natural bust. Sometimes only the use of implants of different sizes allows to correct the existing asymmetry.

In various cases, the surgeon may recommend implants with a smooth or textured surface.

  • The smooth round models are suitable for placement through the axillary (transaxillary) approach.
  • Anatomically shaped models with a textured surface are often chosen for breast augmentation through inframammary (inframammary) access, which allows for a beautiful natural result.

Indications for breast augmentation

  • unsatisfactory breast size;
  • breast asymmetry;
  • ptosis caused by breastfeeding / sudden weight loss;
  • excess fatty tissue;
  • excess glandular tissue;
  • unsatisfactory nipple shape.

Plastic surgery with implants is indicated for reconstructive breast correction - after tumor removal or complete mastectomy. Therefore, the operation is not only of an aesthetic nature. It can also be performed for medical reasons.

Contraindications for mammoplasty of the mammary glands

  • early age (up to 18 years);
  • period of pregnancy and lactation;
  • problems with blood clotting;
  • liver disease;
  • cardiovascular and endocrine diseases;
  • diabetes;
  • oncology;
  • diseases of the respiratory system;
  • infectious and viral diseases;
  • psychic deviations.

If the results of the preoperative analyzes are not satisfactory, the operation is postponed or canceled.

Two weeks before the operation, it is necessary to stop taking blood-thinning drugs and hormonal drugs.

How is the breast augmentation procedure

  1. The patient talks to the surgeon. Preoperative marks are applied. A conversation with the anesthetist follows.
  2. The operation itself takes place under general anesthesia and lasts from 1. 5 to 3 hours. Doctors make small incisions under the breasts / armpits / areola. Through the incision, the implant is placed under the gland or under the muscle. The location of the implant is discussed in advance during the consultation.
  3. Then drains are installed and sutures are applied.
  4. After removal from the anesthesia, the patient is in the hospital for 24 hours after the operation, as patients need 24-hour observation.

What tests need to be done before the test procedure

If your doctor is planning a cosmetic correction under local anesthesia, some basic tests will need to be done before the procedure:

  • General clinical blood test (complete + platelets)
  • Coagulogram (blood clotting time, bleeding time, INR, prothrombin index, fibrinogen, APTT)
  • Biochemical blood test: ALT, AST, bilirubin, cholesterol, urea, creatinine
  • Blood glucose (glucose) test
  • Test for hepatitis B, hepatitis C, HIV, syphilis

Blood group analysis (with Rh)

  • ECG (electrocardiogram)
  • Fluorography
  • General urine analysis
  • Examination by a mammologist, including an ultrasound of the mammary glands or mammogram
  • Conclusion of the therapist on the possibility of surgery (for patients over 30 years of age)

* Your doctor may order additional tests to more accurately predict the outcome and minimize the risk of complications from breast augmentation.

Rehabilitation period

After the operation, you stay in the hospital until the next morning under the supervision of the medical staff. Sometimes it is necessary to stay in the clinic for two days. Then go home. In the first days swelling, soreness, a slight increase in body temperature, a feeling of "tension" are the norm. The swelling and pain usually go away within 10-14 days of surgery. After 2 weeks, the surgeon removes the stitches. Until this time, it is necessary to take medications prescribed by a doctor. In the first days after plastic surgery, it is necessary to drink antibiotics, which means that alcoholic beverages are prohibited. The pain reliever recommended by the surgeon will help reduce pain after surgery.

After plastic surgery, it is necessary to exclude the risk of allergic reactions. Therefore, we do not recommend the use of foods that cause allergies. Their list will be provided by the doctor for consultation. Allergy is dangerous due to increased swelling and, consequently, pain.

What shouldn't be done during the recovery period?

  • exert yourself too much physically and emotionally;
  • go to the sauna, swimming pool, gym;
  • sunbathing in the sun;
  • sleep on your side;
  • hands up;
  • touch and rub the torso.

Compression underwear should be worn for a month. For the next couple of months, it is best to wear non-wired bras. 3 months after mammoplasty, you can update your linen wardrobe.

Your doctor will assign you a follow-up plan. It is important to follow it to avoid side effects.

Possible complications

If the doctor's recommendations are violated, the implant can be displaced, the development of inflammatory processes. For a controlled result, we leave the drains. This reduces the risk of postoperative complications.

In a later period, there is a risk of the formation of constrictive fibrosis - the formation of a dense capsule around the implant. Implant manufacturers indicate the possible percentage of the risk of capsular contracture. We work with implants with the lowest risk of overgrowth of the connective tissue around them.

Sometimes the mammary glands do not completely cover the contours of the implant due to their small size. In this case, lipofilling can be performed to mask the implant and give the breast a natural look.

Implant rupture is possible due to injury. In case of breakage, an operation is performed to remove it and replace it with a new one.

When should you see a surgeon?

  • the chest becomes firm to the touch;
  • the color of the skin in the implant area changes;
  • the vascular network appears;
  • the chest is deformed;
  • painful sensations arise.

Often patients come to us after operations in other clinics with complaints of capsular contracture. A second mammoplasty is then performed with the replacement of the implant and the removal of the fibrous tissue.

Constrictive fibrosis often occurs when the implant is placed under the gland. If it is under the muscle, small manifestations of fibrosis may be invisible and harmless.

If you want to find a place where breast augmentation is cheap, think a couple of times about your health - physical and mental. Take your time and make an informed decision.

Breast enhancement price

The price for breast augmentation varies from clinic to clinic. It consists of a number of factors:

  1. competence of the surgeon
  2. plastic method
  3. cost of installations
  4. volume of consumables
  5. duration of anesthesia
  6. length of hospital stay
